This is such an unbelievably satisfying outfit. It combines everything one could hope for in a look; a wonderful silhouette, an extremely satisfying colour coordination, cloths which use a perfect play between roughness of texture and softness of colour. Such softness about that jacket too, but without being so soft as to look sloppy. Just perfectly natural.

So good to see two of London’s finest being given such a role. The Kamakura Shirt Company clearly have their heads in the game. Without sounding too gushing, I think it should be noted that, for me at least, John Gaul is perhaps the guy to look to in all matters regarding…well…cool.
As an aside, it’s wonderful to see The Weejun (from whom I reblogged this post) back sharing his wears with us. We are truly blessed!

Not only is it my first Sero, it’s from the legendary Crimson Shop too. This is one hell of a shirt! Thanks to Newton Street Vintage.

It’s nice to go out and not drink. Ideals of the austere modernist begin to make sense on nights out like this; pizza, espresso, coca-cola and cappuccino consumed at 1am at Bar Italia in Soho. Next Friday, more of the same, with the added extra of following up with Cuban sounds at Viva la Revilucion at Ronnie’s Bar across the road.

This is so necessary in the sun.

Gant Rugger on Regent St. have now sold out of the red pullover oxford shirts. Fuming. Hoping their faded red madras will pop in to the sale some time soon. Still, I remain obsessed with red oxford cloth.

I love those clothes that leave you on the line between looking like a dick and looking rad. The suede bomber will leave you looking like an early 90s wide boy or Paul Newman. It really needs to be slim enough to avoid it looking like a suede MA1 jacket.

There’s something so much nicer about the clumpy, clumsy soles of vintage canvas deck shoes. I wear Vans authentics almost daily and, though they go some way to satisfying my desperate need to ooze early 60s West Coast Cool, there’s something that just isn’t right about them.

Deadstock Keds Mainsail in Japan. They have all the best stuff.
